Katherine Parker, MSW, LCSW
I’m an Oklahoma City native who stayed close to home for college (Boomer Sooner!) before trading the plains for the mountains and moving to Denver for graduate school in 2018. Denver has been the backdrop for so many milestones of my young adulthood. I earned my masters degree here, met and married my husband, built lifelong friendships, and continue to go on many outdoor adventures with my husband and our two dogs, Mowgli and Elvis.
Before starting Katherine Parker Counseling, I provided mental health support to K–12 students in Littleton Public Schools across both traditional and alternative school settings. I love working with young people and am passionate about supporting them through the unique joys, challenges, and changes that come with each stage of growing up – including adulting!
No two people are the same, therefore I don’t think their sessions should be either. I tailor my therapeutic approach to the age, personality, needs, and goals of the person sitting across from me. I draw primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, attachment theory, and mindfulness in my work. With younger clients, play and art are often woven into our sessions, however, I’m a firm believer that neither has an age limit!

My Specialties Include...
Master of Social Work, University of Denver

Being trusted with my clients’ care is something I take seriously, which is why I’m committed to continuing to learn and grow as a therapist. I regularly invest my time and money in individual consultation, group consultation, and continuing education to strengthen my skills and stay current with evidence-based practices. My goal is to provide care that is not only warm and relational, but also thoughtful, researched based, and effective.
